The sort of thing where you buy a record you know you love but then don't even end up listening to them.
Like I don't think I cracked the shrink wrap on Analphabetapology Capn Jazz Record - it just feels ancient to me now - and Sunny Day Real Estate Diary. Man I like them a lot just wondering if they should have stayed in my memory. Like I bought them out of obligation. Reissues of things like that always get me.

I think the early Korn records would count for me. Like them or not, that band broke new ground and started a new genre of music.

Whoa - you rebought Korn on vinyl? Or did you get them originally on that format? I think that's different. I have to buy all these reissues which sit on my shelf - I had them on CD and now have to get everything again but then I haven't even wanted to hear it.
I feel that way towards Mellow Gold, it was so groundbreaking to me and I NEED it on vinyl but I doubt I would listen to it anytime soon. Just wondering if anyone else goes through this?

I'll usually give them a spin once or twice, but that's about it. Too many good things to listen to. I bought Quicksand's Slip on green and yellow swirl. Listened to it once, and it's on the shelf. It's a great record, but i have to be in a certain mood to hear it....sometimes that mood never comes.

Yea, that's a perfect example. Helmet 'In the Meantime' would be one too. Listened to it forever but it might be better off leaving it back on cassette stuck in one of my first cars where it belongs.

My buddy and I were obsessed with Korn. I owned a ton of 12" and 10"s. I have their debut on LP. I stopped listening after their 3rd album though.

Nice, can't ever get rid of those. You've always been that obsessed with the vinyl? I'll admit I got rid of a bunch - well my parents did - after I moved away for school and life. Rescued a few but also didn't care because of my high school taste. Who needs another Skinny Puppy or Pigface 12"?

No I haven't always been obsessed with vinyl, but I can tell you the very last CD I've purchased was in 2009. Karen O's masterpiece, "Where The Wild Things Are" soundtrack. I ended up buying the vinyl too.
