I'm also into that Depression Cherry record from Beach House - not sure how I feel about those guys yet...
Got that Home Blitz latest, I like those guys a lot, even the weird experimental crap breaks between really scuzzy pop. Real raw sounding stuff - like it.

I got a bunch of Bowie literally a week or so before he died. I saw that '5 years' doc on Showtime about him which which picked the five most important years of his career and just bought those records on discogs; Ziggy Stardust..., Heroes, Young Americans, Low and Let's Dance. I never really listened to Ziggy all the way through on vinyl before and it's really mind blowing. The way that record sounds for when it came out and it's not gimmicky at all for being a concept record about a rock and roll alien. Genius pop songs, every track is catchy with quirky changes. It also completely made me hear T Rex and Jeff Novak in a totally new way. Then he goes soul with Young Americans and experimental on Low and then arena rock on Let's Dance. The doc talked about how he wanted to make the most successful pop record ever but he went too far and was completely annoyed with this massive world tour and show for the next 2 years.

I listened to Bonnie Prince Billy 'Lay Down In The Light' LP today. It's probably my favorite of his that I've heard. I think he releases more material than Ty Segall.

Such a good one. You knows what's crazy is the vocalist from The Organ is backing him up on a couple tracks. Not bad for an obscure Canadian all girl post punk band who broke up after one record. Also one of those records I'm going to have to drain the college fund for. He's got that new one, Pond Scum, which I think is older reworked stuff but I don't even mind those records. Ty has to be closing quick though.
